What is Special About a Morgan Car?

Hero Background

By customers of Morgan Kent

When MOG Finder asked us to sum up “What makes a Morgan so special?”, we knew there was no better way to answer than by turning to those with first-hand experience. So, we reached out to some of our wonderful customers to share their thoughts—offering a genuine glimpse into what it truly feels like to own one of these remarkable cars.

Andy – 4/4

I think it’s the sheer beauty and elegance of the design that first attracts the attention. Then it’s so easy to be seduced by the fact that its handmade in England and so unique on the road that it looks like nothing else. It’s a car you can watch being constructed and talk to the craftsmen and women building it - to which ever personal specification you care to imagine. Unlike the scores of over-sized ugly SUVs that clog our roads and offend the eyes, a Morgan is a welcome sight anywhere. Then there is driving it, roof down and side-screens off, with arms resting on the gorgeous cut away swooping doors. Every journey is an event with you, and your car, centre of the action. A true driver’s car, with light weight adding to the wonderful driving dynamics which make the car feel alive. No unnecessary buttons or gizmos to get in the way of driver bonding with machine and enjoying the open road. Every Morgan journey feels like an adventure, even if it’s just to grab a pint of milk.

Yes it's just a car, but with real character no matter what age or model, and the more its driven the deeper this is appreciated. It’s actually more than a car - it’s a testament to British design, manufacturing and survival where so many others have fallen by the wayside. No one needs a Morgan, it’s one of life’s rare pleasures like a fine wine, stunning landscape or falling in love - something to be celebrated and enjoyed as you catch its reflection in a shop window. I have never heard anyone regret buying a Morgan - just lots of ex-owners who wish they hadn't sold. Sums it up really.

David – Plus Four

It’s personal. There is a delight whenever you go for a drive. Your Morgan makes you smile when you see it, and when you get in, it gets better. There is a uniqueness about owning a hand-built car with a heritage that stretches back over a hundred years. As you settle in the car you are encased in a world of hand stitched leather upholstery with a Morgan only view over the long bonnet and sweeping wings. But when you start up, there is the knowledge that you are driving a performance car with modern technology. These cars are quick but also retain the traditional thrill of driving a sportscar almost sitting on a live real axle. The joy of taking sweeping curves and pushing the car out of them must be experienced. There is nothing quite like it. When we bought our first Morgan, we were told that it would change our lives for the better. It did. We had no concept of the Morgan ‘family’ which means wherever you go with your Morgan you invariably get a tremendous reception and meet fascinating people and make friends. No other car in the world has this.

Peter – 3-Wheeler

Having test run the Morgan 3-Wheeler, I was struck by the exhilarating experience and craftsmanship. Handcrafted in Malvern by a highly skilled workforce and in constant production since 1909, Morgan offers a bespoke service, and it is said no two have left the factory in identical ‘spec. The timeless yet modern design attracts admiring views and comments and as a previous famous owner once said, ‘It’s the closest to flying without leaving the ground!’

Alistair – 4/4

I’m driving a recognisable brand, a piece of British motoring heritage that goes back more than 115 years. A Morgan is handmade by humans in the heart of England and smells of tradition -wood, leather, oil. You don’t so much drive a Morgan, you wear it. A Morgan communicates with you through the seats and controls. It is an ice breaker, a conversation starter in any company. And most importantly, a Morgan makes you smile!
